It all started in 1987 when my parents bought me my first guitar. The day that I got the guitar, I started a band with Fred Engh and Kevin Gross. It was the funniest thing ever. Fred played my brother's guitar tuned down for bass, I played my guitar and Kevin played a old keyboard. We video taped our one and only performance. It was horrible. After a quick line-up change, it was myself on guitars and lead vocals, Dave Thomas on lead guitar, Chris Correy on drums and Fred Engh on bass. Even though the line up would change again, it was a start. We actually started to write some tunes together.
Still continuing with the same name, in 1988, I would met my musical soul mate, Chris Osterhout. We met each in Social Studies class in our junior year of High School. He told me that he was taking lessons on guitar. Immediately I asked him to join the band. After a few months of practicing around, we played our first concert in my garage. Fred was sharing lead vocals with me but Fred was moving away. That left us me Chris Osterhout, Chris Corey and At this time Chris O. and myself would start to bond almost like brothers talking about music and all that other personal stuff that best friends do. Religiously Chris C. Chris O. and I would proactive everyday whether it was in my room, basement or outside on the driveway. We were always trying to come with something. It wasn't until I met this girl on the school bus who told me about a drummer who lived across the street from her. I met with this guy and his name was Jim Clute. Jim was already in a band with 3 other guys. I never had a interest to have Jim in our band because we already had a drummer. I guess during this time, Chris Correy was moving away from the music thing. Not that we didn't want him in the band, we just grew apart musically. The look for a new drummer began.
